Michigan, best known as the “Great Lakes State”, became a state on January 26, 1837, making it the 26th state to join the Union.
Michigan is famous for many things, including being the birthplace of the automobile industry. Also known for its beautiful natural scenery, including its many lakes and forests, Michigan offers powersports enthusiasts more than 4,000 miles of state-designated ORV trails and routes, six scramble areas, eligible county roads, frozen surface of public waters, state forest roads (open to ORV use) and eligible national forest roads.
